This notice covers Aditi Jain Therapy, an independent private practice offering online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to adults across the UK. I am the data controller for the personal information described below. You can contact me at info@aditijaintherapy.com.
When you contact me — by email, through the contact form, or by booking a free consultation — I collect the information you provide, such as your name, contact details and anything you choose to tell me about what's bringing you to therapy. I use this to respond to your enquiry, arrange a consultation, and decide together whether to begin working together.
If you become a client, I keep brief clinical notes to support our work together, including session notes, any assessment information, and relevant correspondence (for example with your GP or insurer, where applicable and with your knowledge). This is sensitive ("special category") personal data and is held securely, separately from general enquiry records, and accessed only by me.
I process enquiry and contact information on the basis of my legitimate interest in responding to prospective clients and running my practice. I process clinical information on the basis of the provision of health/therapy services, and because processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims and for compliance with my professional obligations as a BABCP-accredited therapist. Where relevant, I rely on your explicit consent to share information with a named third party, such as your insurer or GP.
I keep enquiry information that doesn't lead to ongoing therapy for a limited period before deleting it. I retain clinical records for the period required by my professional body and my professional indemnity insurance [confirm exact retention period against current BABCP guidance and your indemnity insurer's requirements], after which they are securely destroyed.
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask what personal information I hold about you, to ask for it to be corrected, and in some circumstances to ask for it to be deleted or for processing to be restricted. To exercise any of these rights, contact me at info@aditijaintherapy.com. If you have a concern about how your information has been handled that we can't resolve together, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Free consultations and sessions are booked through Zanda Health, a clinic management platform, which processes some of your information on my behalf under its own data processing agreement. This website is hosted by Cloudflare. Email enquiries are handled through my professional email provider. I don't sell or share your information with any third party for marketing purposes.
This website keeps analytics deliberately minimal. It does not run advertising trackers or a marketing pixel. Where basic, privacy-respecting analytics are used to understand how the site is used, no personally identifying information is collected as part of that process.
Everything discussed in therapy is confidential. The rare exceptions are where there is a serious risk to your safety or someone else's, or where the law requires disclosure — and I would talk to you about this wherever possible. I discuss my clinical work in regular supervision, minimising identifying information, in line with my professional obligations as an accredited member of the BABCP.
